Their Story
Uncle Vic was a man of few words but was always just and had the capacity to put things right. He loved his family and always did his best for them. He enjoyed a good laugh.
Uncle Vic House was a returned service man (Lighthorse WW2 Service Number – WX32680). Vic was a diary farmer who had developed his property at Ambergate. He was a very hard-working man and did enjoy riding his horses. He lived in a small hut on his property prior to marrying Aunty Ruby.
He built a new house on his property when they married, and we enjoyed many visits there. When mineral sands were discovered on the Ambergate property he sold up and moved to Lowden where they built another new home. The gardens around this home were beautiful thanks to Ruby’s love and care. This was a beautiful property that had the Preston river running through. They established a well-known Hereford stud while farming there.
Memories by Niece June Henson.
