Their Story
My memories of my Aunt Ruby are of a gentle, loving, kind and beautiful lady. Ruby was quiet in her demeanor and always a lady. Ruby was small in stature and remained slim all her life. She had beautiful auburn hair and gorgeous blue eyes. Aunty loved her family. Ruby always dressed impeccably and knew just what the right thing was to wear at all occasions.
Ruby was a lady of many talents, sewing, cooking and gardening among them. All who visited her enjoyed her fabulous cakes and tarts. She loved her home and devoted much of her time into keeping it spic and span.
After Ruby’s marriage to Vic House they farmed at Ambergate a few kms from Busselton. Later when mining came to the area they moved to Preston Park at Lowden.
Ruby could always find the best in everyone and everything. Ruby lived on the Preston property until her death.
Memories by Niece June Henson.
