Their Story

Obituary – South Western Times Newspaper – 31st October 1941

After a very short illness the death occured on Friday last of Mr. Henry Williams, the eldest son of one of the early South-West pioneer families.  The death came as a surprise to many as the late Mr. Williams, although 74 years of age was active and in apparent good health.  The deceased had lived in the Capel District practically all his live and until recently had a large dairying property at Elgin.  In active and apparent good health. The late Mr. Williams was a bachelor and the chief mourners were Mr. Stephen Williams, Mr. David Williams (Capel) Mr. Charles Williams (Busselton), brothers and Mrs. Richards (Grace), Mrs. P Payne (Eva) of Bunbury and Mrs. Coverley of Perth, sisters.

A large crowd followed the remains to the Capel Cemtery, after a short service held in St. Johns Church.  The Rev. F. J. Boxall officiated.
