Grandparents (father):

Edward Bentley, born 1821, Essex England. Transported to Western Australia on Convict Ship “Minden” arrived 14th October 1851. Died 2nd July 1858, Gin Gin, Western Australia.

Maria Buckingham was born on 4 October 1836 in Devon, England. She emigrated to Western Australia with her parents aboard the ship Sophia, arriving in 1850. After Edward Bentley’s death Maria married John Thomas in 1861 in Gingin, Western Australia—her second marriage.
She passed away on 9 February 1919 at Moore River, Western Australia, and was buried at St Luke’s Anglican Church, Gingin, under the name Maria Thomas.

Grandparents (mother):  

Richard Scrivener, born 1825, England. Died 14th January 1908, Guildford, Western Australia. Came to Western Australia on the ship “Emily Mitchell in 1859 with first wife Elizabeth Finch and two children. Elizabeth died 1866.

Catherine Gale Bridgman was born in 1844 in Hampshire, England. She emigrated to Western Australia with her parents aboard the Ship Sophia, arriving in 1850. She married Daniel Baughan in 1863 in Geraldton, Western Australia. Daniel passed away in 1865 in Geraldton at the age of 37.
In 1867, Catherine married Richard Scrivener, who died in 1908. She later married for a third time in 1913, to William Cowling.
Catherine passed away on 31 August 1922 in Northam, Western Australia, and was laid to rest in Northam Cemetery under the name Catherine Gale Cowling.
