Mother: Edna Jean (Hutton) Scott. Born 26 February 1916 at Warren, Western Australia. Died 18 September 2010 at Bassendean Nursing Home, Western Australia. Married 1938.

Grandparents (Father) Eugene Henry William Scott. Born 10 October 1881 at Stratham, Western Australia. Died 24 February 1937 at ‘Irwin Farm’ Elgin, Western Australia and Grace Hill Campbell (Forrest) Scott. Born 13 April 1888 at ‘Sea View Farm’ Capel, Western Australia. Died 24 January 1950 at Elgin, Western Australia.

Grandparents (mother): William Walter Hutton. Born 8 January 1877 at Balingup, Western Australia. Died 13 November 1972 at Bunbury, Western Australia and Bertha Fanny Christina (Payne) Hutton. Born 8 November 1877 at Vasse, Western Australia. Died 12 November 1962 at Perth, Western Australia.

Their Story 

June is the first daughter of Jim & Jean Scott, born in Bunbury in 1941.

June was brought up on a dairy farm in Elgin, Western Australia called ‘Kyeema’. After primary school in Boyanup, she attended Bunbury High School.

June was an inaugural leader of the Capel Marching Girls and the team did amazingly well.

After working casual jobs in Capel, riding a push bike 5 miles to get there and back she left to live in Perth and became a Nurse at Princess Margaret Hospital in Subiaco, Western Australia.

Tragically after one year of nursing on her way home from a holiday at Rottnest with work friends, her car left the road in Ludlow on her way to Busselton, killing herself and an elderly passenger she was giving a lift to.

In 1961 June’s parents received a letter from the Matron at PMH telling them that June’s nursing friends had placed a memorial plaque in the Nurses Library in memory of June.

June is buried at the Capel Cemetery.
