Grace was the first of the family born at the new property originally called ‘Fatfield’ and later renamed ‘SeaView’ at Ludlow on the shores of Geographe Bay, Western Australia. They settled here early in 1886, originally with 8 children, completing the family of thirteen.
She was educated at Ludlow, then attended Perth College.
Grace and Eugene met when Eugene went to ‘SeaView’ to do contract fencing.
They married in St Marys church in Busselton, Western Australia in September 1908 and then moved to Elgin, where they lived all their married life on ‘Irwin Farm’
