Their Story 

Keith was born in Capel and had a twin brother Kenneth and an older brother Norman.

He attended Capel Primary School which was on the site which is now the Capel Cemetery.

Keith excelled at school and his teacher offered to pay for him to become a teacher.

He didn’t want that as farming was what interested him.

He built a house on the land that was given to his father after the war which was 10 minutes out of
Capel.

Keith married Erlene in 1955 and they lived on the farm with his brother Kenneth. It was a dairy and
beef farm and here they raised 5 children.

Keith and Erlene were happily married for 44 years until Erlene’s death in 1999.

He died of a heart attack on the 3 February 2001 in the Bunbury Regional Hospital, Bunbury, Western
Australia.
