SUDDEN DEATH COLLAPSE ON VERANDAH
LATE MR. CHARLES B. ROBERTS
Mr. Charles B. Roberts, of Stirling Estate, near Capel, died suddenly at his home on Saturday at the age of 52 years. His wife visited Bunbury on that day, and when she returned about 6.30 p.m. she found Mr. Roberts on the verandah dead. A doctor was summoned from Bunbury, but he was unable to give a certificate of death and Constable Woodland was sent out to bring the body into Bunbury for a post-mortem examination. These proceedings established the fact that death was due to natural causes. It is stated that Mr. Roberts had complained on several occasions of pains around the heart and his death is attributed to heart failure. Deceased was the youngest son of the late Mr. Charles Roberts one of the oldest pioneers of the district, was born at Capel and lived there all his life. He leaves no children.
The funeral took place on Monday afternoon after a service had been held in the Anglican Church, Capel, at 2 o’clock and thence proceeded to the Capel cemetery where the remains were interred. The Rev. Lerpiniere, of Boyanup, conducted the service. The pallbearers were Messrs. J.Lodge, H. Tuckey, T. Jamieson, A. Dunkley, J. J. Higgins, J. Hornibrook.
Wm. Brittain & Son carried out the funeral arrangements.
