One of a family of old Capel pioneers, Mr. William John Charles Delaporte passed a way at St. Clair’s Hospital, Bunbury, on October 17, at the age of 71 years.

The late Mr. Delaporte was born at Capel, in 1870, and resided in the district all his life.  He took up farming at an early age and had been engaged in this pursuit ever since.

The funeral took place at Capel after a short service in the Church of England.  The Rev. F. Boxall officiated at the service and at the graveside.  Mrs Delaporte pre deceased her husband some years ago. A family of three – two sons, Fred (Capel), and Vernon (Kirup), and one daughter, Mrs M. Bentley (Capel), are left to mourn their loss.
