We’d like to thank

All our wonderful volunteers past and present, who without their knowledge and dedication this project would not have been a possibility.

The Bendigo Bank in Capel who with the assistance of a community grant, assisted with the funding to create this website.

The Shire of Capel and the Iluka Capel Public Library staff who provide access to the Ron Maidment Archive Room in which our group meets fortnightly, and supports our endeavors to tell the stories of those resting in the Capel Cemetery.

We would also like to thank Paul Stevenson from Geographe Underground Services (GUS) who spend two days with the Capel District Project Team in May 2022 surveying the cemetery using a Ground Penetrating Radar in the search the for unknown and unmarked graves.  This information is vital to enable the team to start our next project to ” Mark and Honor” those graves without a grave marker.

The Bunbury Cemetery Board who have kindly funded our lastest project to “Mark and Honor” those within the Capel Cemetery without a visable marker or headstone. If you would like to read more about the “Mark and Honor” project please go the the “About Us” section of this website for the full story and work to commence in 2023.
